Two zoning items. No dollar figures anywhere on this agenda.
The 3 items worth your attention
The county’s Planning & Local Business Development staff have been reviewing Novi’s proposed master plan amendment, and this meeting is where that review comes back to the committee (6-a). Master plan changes set the table for what gets built where, so if you own property in or near Novi, this is the document that shapes what goes up next door.
Just a mile or so away in political geography, a conditional rezoning proposal sits right on the Commerce Township / Wolverine Lake border (7-a). Conditional rezonings come with strings attached: the land can be developed, but only under specific conditions the municipality negotiates upfront. What those conditions are, and what uses they’d allow, is what the committee’s looking at here.
The third slot goes back to 6-a and 7-a together: both items touch land use on Oakland County’s western edge, and both come out of the same OCED division. It’s a short agenda, but the decisions that flow from these reviews can take years to fully play out in a community.
Roads & property
- Commerce Township conditional rezoning (RZ 26-05) for land adjacent to the Village of Wolverine Lake comes up for a committee decision on staff’s review (7-a).
- Novi’s master plan amendment (MP 26-07) is before the committee as a receive-and-review item, not a final land use decision (6-a).
Where the money’s going
