Kane County ARPA Committee. August 26, 2026.
This meeting is mostly about moving pandemic recovery dollars around, away from veterans’ transportation, away from a court tech upgrade, and toward covering the county’s own ARPA administrative costs.
🔦 The 3 items worth your attention
The biggest redirect is the court technology one. The county wants to pull $100K that had been earmarked for modernizing the 16th Judicial Circuit Court’s technology systems and shift it into the ARPA Program Administrative Project instead (7-D). That’s not a cut exactly, it’s a reprogramming, but the court tech project ends up with less federal support than it had.
Close to $57K is also being pulled from a veterans-transportation agreement between the Veterans’ Assistance Commission of Kane and the Kane County Division of Transportation, again toward administrative costs (7-C). Veterans’ transit services don’t disappear on their own, but that dedicated funding does.
Then there’s the sixth amendment to the county’s contract with its ARPA consultant, which would expand their relationship and authorize additional use of State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (7-A). No dollar figure is listed in the agenda materials, so it’s hard to say how large a change this is, but a sixth amendment is worth watching regardless.
