This one’s almost entirely department check-ins. Six offices, one education report, one veterans update, and that’s basically the whole agenda.
The Public Service Committee runs the county’s administrative and financial departments, so most of its meetings look like this: each office walks through its monthly numbers, the committee listens, and everyone goes home. August is no different.
A few things are worth knowing about how tonight works.
Public comment happens early, at item 5, before the department reports start. If you want to speak, that’s your window.
There’s also a standing item (14) allowing the committee to go into closed executive session if a legally permitted topic comes up. It doesn’t mean they will. It’s just on every agenda as a placeholder, in case.
The reports themselves, Finance (6-A), Treasurer/Collector (8-A), Supervisor of Assessments (9-A), County Clerk (12-A), Recorder (7-A), and Veterans Assistance Commission (11-A), aren’t posted as substantive action items. Same for the Regional Office of Education’s report (10). These are informational, not votes.
