Three outside organizations are walking into this meeting with updates, and no contracts are on the table.
That’s genuinely the whole agenda. No dollar figures, no land deals, no change orders. The Agriculture Committee is meeting to hear from partners and talk about food. Which, honestly, is most of what this committee does.

The Farm Bureau’s county manager, Bona Heinsohn, brings the latest from the organization that represents Kane County’s farming community directly (Item 6-A). If there’s anything moving at the state or federal level that affects local ag operations, this is usually where you’d hear it first.
Kat Gerdts from the Kane-DuPage Soil and Water Conservation District follows with her update on conservation programs running across both counties (Item 6-B). Landowners in particular tend to find these updates useful, since the district runs cost-share and technical assistance programs most people don’t know exist.
Robert Desio from the Northern Illinois Food Bank rounds out the partner reports with a policy and benefits update (Item 6-C). The Food Bank has been increasingly active on the policy side, so this one’s worth watching if you care about food access in the region.
